HOW IT ALL STARTED
Bethany Evangelical Free Church was founded in 1958 with a group of just 15 people creating the charter. Although it started small, God blessed the faithfulness of its people and their hearts, which burned for the expansion of His gospel. The church grew to over 300 attendees in the space of ten years.
Over its almost 70-year history, Bethany was always passionate about the Word of God and the Gospel going out both locally and globally. Numerous short-term mission trips and over 20 full-time missionaries were sent out from among its members.
Their passion to spread the Gospel and cultivate deep faith has always been a marker of this faithful church.

Calvary Littleton began worshiping Jesus and making disciples together in the summer of 2013. The starting point was a group from Calvary Englewood, who came together with a prayerful passion to love Jesus, love one another, and live faithfully as missionaries in their city. This group was prayerfully sent out from Calvary Englewood to show and tell the good news of Jesus to friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers in Littleton. Their first public worship gathering took place in September 2013. They met in various spaces over the course of 12 years (including meeting 4 years in the basement at Bethany Evangelical Free Church!) before finding a more permanent location at Woodlawn Shopping Center.
Over their 12 years, Calvary Littleton sent missionaries overseas and leaders to plant two new churches in Denver and Gillette, Wyoming as well as replant an existing church in Blanca, Colorado.
Their passion to raise up joyful, passionate disciples of Jesus who make Him non-ignorable to the ends of the earth is the heartbeat of this church family.

A SEASON OF EXPLORATION
In November 2024, elders from Bethany and Calvary Littleton began meeting to discuss and pray about a potential integration between the two churches. Over the next several months of elder and integration team meetings, congregational votes, joint worship services, and family dinners, the two congregations joyfully voted yes to unite as one church family with their first Sunday as Calvary Bethany in September 2025.
